Our Survivors Group consisted of  Jasonette,Soana,Kanesinsu and myself.We chose Jasonette as our leader.We chose our leader by seeing  who work so hard for our group.The reason we want Jasonette to become our leader is because she was the first person who came up with the best ideas first. We also would like her to become the leader because she worked hard on each slide and she made each slide so we could work on it. She is also independent, hard-working and she is persistent with her work. The problem that my group and i have faced is that our communication eg: i am a very shy to talk to my groups about what i know.We solved this problem by working together as a group and they talk to me.The one in our group that made decisions is Jasonette because she is our leader.Yes it is our leader who made decisions because she always bring up the best ideas and then we the rest of our groups can add some to her ideas.We complete this task by working together as group eg: talk to each other,share each other what they know and help to each other.The similarities between pretending to be a survivor on a island(task)and reality is that all our thinking that we used in our task like eg: steps to survive:find food,build a shelter and etc..all of that things that we used in our task,we used it when we land on an deserted island in reality.The differences between pretending to be a survivor on an island (task)and reality is that all the thing that we do on task is just thinking,we don’t do it we just imagine what we will do if we are  on an deserted island.But when we land on an deserted island in reality all our thinking that we do do on task we do it in real life.

In term 2 I conducted a Social Inquiry on Migration.My Social Inquiry focused on the movement migrant China to New Zealand.The push reason why Chinese people left their country of origin was because China was beset by overpopulation,land,shortages,famine,drought,banditry,peasant revolt.Another push reason why they left their country is because a steady stream of able-bodied young men sought their fortunes overseas.There is a another push reason why Chinese people left their country is because the government already made a new law in November 2013 that every family need to have only two babies/child because their country was overpopulation.The pull reason why they were attracted to New Zealand was becauseAppo Hocton is the first person who immigrant from China to New Zealand in 1842.He came to New Zealand because b of work,he starting work as a servant and he eventually became a businessman in 1852.

Some came to New Zealand because they were bought to work at Otago goldfields in 1886.Another pull reason why they left their country is because ofThe world war and because some Chinese people immigrant to New Zealand because of gold miners.Some of the obstacle they faced while living in New Zealand is after 1907 all arrival Chinese people are required  to sit English test. From 1920 entry to New Zealand was by permit only,which severely restricted the numbers of Chinese immigrants.Chinese people on New Zealand were deprived of the old age pension until 1936.My personal perspective  The way I see the Chinese immigrant is very hurtful because i can see how they suffer from overpopulation,famine,drought etc….I think it better for the Chinese people to immigrant to overseas country(NZ) because they can have what they want like have a good job,have a good life,feel free from overpopulation,and they could also free from the law that their government has created eg: Each family could only have two children,but here in overseas there is no law like that.

1)Reason why she came to NZ.Push or Pull reason.
=Push factor:The reason why she came here to NZ,because her father want her to go to NZ and worked and send money to them to her father to Samoa to renew their Samoa/old house to a palangi house.
2)Challenge she faced.What did she difficult to cope with?
Her speaking in English is so difficult because it is not her language.
3)How did she faced her challenge?Where did get helped from?
=She faced her challenge when she talked to  a palangi person,but she get helped from the library.She always went to the library with her children to read and she started to learned her English by reading.

"The year 9 camp 2017"

WHEN?=Our camp starts on Monday 26th of June 2017 and finished on Tuesday the 27th of June.
WHERE?=We have our camp on YMCA CAMP ADAIR HUNUA rd.
MY HIGHLIGHT=The beast.
SOMETHING I ENJOYED THE MOST=I enjoyed sleeping together with my classmates girls,eating,showering and i enjoyed having fun playing lot of activity.
THINGS THAT I DON'T ENJOY THE MOST=The thing i don't enjoyed the most is the confidant course activity because we did that activity at the morning and that morning was really cold like i'm going to die.
THE THINGS THAT I LIKE ABOUT MY TEAM=The things that i like about my team is this,I like my team because we communicate to each other and we listen to each other.
HOW MANY DAYS I WANT TO STAY ON CAMP=I love to stay on camp for about the whole week.
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED ON THE CAMP=I learn how to communicate with new kids.
